Council for Disabled Children
The Council for Disabled Children is the umbrella body for the disabled children's sector with a membership of over 300 voluntary and community organisations and a network of practitioners acorss education, health and social care. The council's work to improve outcomes for disabled children and young people includes challenging and influencing policy development, researching and sharing learning and practice resources, and providing advice and information. Social care projects include 'Transforming culture and practice in social care', a two-year programme funded by the DfE involved working in partnership with five local authorities to co-produce new approaches to assessment in children’s social care and supporting SEND regional leads with policy and practice questions realting SEND reform.
