Dr Jessica Roy is lecturer in child and family welfare and programme director of the BSc Childhood Studies at the University of Bristol. She practised as a care worker and a social worker before completing her MRes Social Work and a PhD on children living with parental substance misuse. Her primary research interests focus on children's experiences of, and outcomes related to, parental drug and alcohol misuse, domestic violence and abuse and welfare interventions. She is co-editor of the Journal of Gender Based Violence.
